Anne Moin’s “Tertiary” (2017) is a solid example of an artist pushing against the limits of what figuration can do in the 21st century. The impasto is overly conspicuous without any payoff. However, the deft retention of certain colours clearly left intact from the under painting show a real sensitivity to the interaction between material and process. The painting can be accessed in the ground floor lobby of the Energex offices via the entrance on Albert Street.
